Abstract

A myriad of educational issues exist in Fiji and the Pacific Islands. This book is a collection of papers presented on the School of Education Seminar Series of the University of the South Pacific. It is a bricolage of discussions, conversations, and debates. This book is designed to illuminate various educational issues that may often be overlooked in the Pacific Islands, such as art education, the importance of recess, the value of after-school programs for students, attrition in higher education, and the critical need for improved school libraries, to name a few. The book is divided into educational issues in K–12 schools and higher education and its environment. This book will be of interest to a variety of readers, including postgraduate students, teacher educators, and policy makers.
