The article dealt with debt and assets securitization techniques in the financial market. It explained the definition of securitization under sec. 2(1)(z) of The Securitization and Reconstruction of Financial Assets and Enforcement of Security Interest Act, 2002. Further, the article discussed the NPAs and their classification and the procedure of securitization, which is at a nascent stage, as it is restricted to certain institutions. And in concluding remarks the article exposed the need for securitization to become more popular in the near future.
