Abstract

These documents forms part of an ongoing consultation process into employment law reforms in Vanuatu. The proposals in this document are a reaction to the Employment Relations Bill, and reflect what appeared to be the consensus position after initial rounds of consultation. Further consultations on the proposal with employers in August 2015 led to the proposal being strongly rejected. These documents are therefore primarily of historical interest, as a record of ongoing debate about employment law reform in Vanuatu. They should not be taken as a reflection of the employers position.
