Abstract

Globally, thereisanimmensedemandformobilecommunicationservices and networks that are more reliable and faster. Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites can be included into the current infrastructure to substantially improve Fifth Generation (5G) communications. Emerging technology known as 5Gpromises to revolutionize global connection by improving network capacity, reducing latency in underserved and remote areas, and expanding coverage. This article reviews the recent advancements, keyperformanceparametersandchallenges, keyenablingtechnologies, major applications, and future scope for LEO satellites integrated with 5G and beyond. The review of the available literature would assist the researchers in expanding their knowledge for future research in this field.
