Abstract
In this paper we present a small dual-frequency printed antenna based on a square shorted-patch configuration with an embedded slot to generate the second resonant frequency. The antenna resonance is at 1.58 and 2.6 GHz with 10-dB return-loss bandwidths of 1.3% and 3.3% for the lower and higher resonances, respectively. The overall dimensions of the antenna are 0.105λ0 × 0.105λ0 × 0.05λ0 and it is simple to construct.
