Abstract
An integral part of the Pacific Island Food composition Programme (PIFCP) was the pilot programme which was designed to help identify problems in food sample collection, preparation , handling, storage and especially in the reliability and accuracy of the methods of analysis. This is the detailed report of the pilot programme including the types of food analysed, analytical methods, results as well as comparison with literature.
