John Mohammed, an Indo-Fijian comic and radio personality redefined the usage of Fiji Hindi as medium for narratives of popular culture beyond its everyday usage. This paper explores his use of humor to critically engage with theoretical works on Indo-Fijian identity that favor the idea of an angst ridden indentured experience as its defining moment and feature.
