This paper investigates the relationship between remittances and sustainable growth in Asia and Pacific countries. Sustainable growth is quantified by the contribution rate of total factor productivity to GDP growth, and total factor productivity is measured by the non-parametric Malmquist index, whose computation is based on the frontier production function where human capital, in addition to physical capital stock and the labour force, is included. And remittances' impact on sustainable growth is investigated via panel-data analyses, which also reveals the channels through which remittances influence sustainable growth.
