Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic that was initially reported in China has now spread to most parts of the world with its impact mainly evident in the tourism industry. Undoubtedly, the tourism industry of the Fiji Islands, Samoa and Solomon Islands has been adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. For decades, tourism has been the backbone of the small island developing countries. Data for this study will be extracted from the secondary data sources. A number of measures taken by the national governments; such as, restrictions on travel, lockdowns, and social distancing measures to combat the spread of the deadly Coronavirus had negative repercussions on the operations of tourism operators, and the airline industry of Fiji, Samoa and Solomon Islands. To protect the demise of the tourism industry, the national governments offered stimulus package to protect and grow the tourism industries of Fiji, Samoa and Solomon Islands. It has been noticed that tourists around the world are delaying their travel plans to protect themselves and others from the spread of this deadly virus.
